Writing is my passion: Best colleges?

Hi, folks! I've been writing since I could hold a pencil, and it's definitely my passion. I'm hoping to major in writing in college. But there are tons of colleges out there, so which ones would you guys recommend for writing majors?

If you're interested in more of a liberal arts experience, schools like Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania also offer creative writing programs at the undergraduate level. These schools, being in urban environments, could offer further opportunities for inspiration and publishing connections as well.

For a more specialized experience, you might look into schools such as Oberlin College and Washington and Lee University, which both have significant offerings in creative writing. Specifically, Oberlin is known for its unique, artistically inclined student body, which may be a great atmosphere for a writer. At Washington and Lee, you would have smaller class sizes and possibly even more individual attention from professors.

One more thing to bear in mind is what type of writing you are interested in. If your interests lie in journalism rather than creative writing, for example, different schools might be better suited for you.
