Pursuing a Psychology Degree at Georgia Military College

Considering going to Georgia Military College after high school, but I'm really keen on pursuing a psychology degree. Does anyone know if GMC offers a degree in psychology? And if yes, any reviews or experiences to share about that program?

Georgia Military College does indeed offer an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology. This is a 2 year program, and it's designed to give you a solid foundation in psychology basics. As such, it prepares you to transfer to a 4-year institution to earn your Bachelor's degree in Psychology. The Associate degree program covers courses like Introduction to Psychology, Human Growth and Development, and Social Psychology, among others.

As for experiences or reviews, GMC's small class sizes and personal attention from faculty are often cited as some of its strengths. The faculty are experienced in various areas of psychology, bringing a wide range of viewpoints to the curriculum. Additionally, the flexibility of the program can benefit students, as many courses are available online as well as in-person. This makes it easier for students to balance their education with other responsibilities.

Remember that pursuing a career in Psychology generally requires more than just an Associate's degree. So, if you aim to work as a clinical psychologist or in a similar role, you'll need to plan for further education beyond GMC. You should consider transferring to a four-year institution after completion of the Associate program at GMC to earn your Bachelor's degree followed by your Master's or Doctoral degree, as per your career goals.

In conclusion, if you're searching for a strong Associate's program as a stepping stone to higher-level psychology studies, Georgia Military College can be a good choice. However, like any college decision, you should consider factors like cost, location, and school culture in addition to the academic program.
