Colleges for Journalism Major

I'm a junior thinking about going into journalism in college. Can anyone suggest some of the best colleges for a journalism major?

Sure, there are several colleges that have highly-regarded programs for journalism.

1. The Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University is consistently ranked as one of the top journalism schools in the United States. It offers both journalism and integrated marketing communications majors.

2. The University of Missouri's School of Journalism is known as the world's first journalism school and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in journalism.

3. The University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism offers an undergraduate degree in journalism and also has a highly-rated graduate program.

4. Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism offers a variety of master's and doctoral degrees in journalism. It's one of the most prestigious journalism schools, with several Pulitzer Prize winners among its alumni and faculty (although please note that they don't offer an undergraduate major in journalism).

5. The Newhouse School at Syracuse University is often highly ranked for its journalism program.

6. The University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in journalism and is consistently ranked highly.

7. The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in journalism.

Remember, when choosing a college, you'll want to consider other factors in addition to the program's reputation, such as size, location, cost, and campus culture. You may also want to consider the opportunities for internships and professional experience in the area. Journalism is a hands-on field, and real-world experience can be just as important as classroom learning.
