Electrical engineering and California colleges

Hey folks, I've been spending a lot of time exploring my interest in electrical engineering. Basically, I want to know if any of you have advice or experience with California colleges offering great EE programs.

Absolutely, there are several California colleges known for their strong Electrical Engineering programs.

The University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) are particularly well-regarded. These two UCs have highly competitive and rigorous programs, giving students exposure to a broad range of topics - from circuit design to software systems. These schools are also known for offering plentiful opportunities for research and internships, allowing students to gain real-world experience in electrical engineering.

Stanford University is another institution in California highly esteemed for its Electrical Engineering program. Stanford combines a strong technical curriculum with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. This could be especially appealing if you're interested in the intersection of engineering and business.

The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) also offers a robust and intensive Electrical Engineering program, with a student-to-faculty ratio that ensures small classes and direct access to professors.

But remember, while these are top-tier programs, there are many other great engineering schools in California. Choosing the best fit for you should take into consideration factors like campus size, cost, graduation rates, extracurricular opportunities, as well as your own learning styles and preferences.

Lastly, keep in mind that for 2024-2025 application cycle, UC schools are test-blind, which means these schools do not consider SAT or ACT scores at all. Application will be evaluated considering things like your GPA, your essays, and your extracurriculars.

Hope this helps, and best on your search.
