Best East Coast colleges for future education majors?

Hey! I'm a current high school rising junior and I'm planning on majoring in education. I'd prefer to stay on the East Coast. Could someone suggest what are considered the best colleges for this here?

Sure, I'm happy to offer some suggestions. There are quite a few excellent East Coast colleges that offer strong programs in Education.

1. Columbia University (New York, NY): Columbia's Teachers College is recognized nationally for their graduate programs in education, and they've expanded this expertise into their undergraduate education programs as well.

2. Harvard University (Cambridge, MA): The teacher education program at Harvard's Graduate School of Education is one of the top in the country. Though they don't have an undergraduate education major, they do offer an undergraduate track in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology that provides a good foundation for those interested in education.

3. University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA): UPenn has a top-notch graduate school of education and offers an undergraduate degree in education as well. It's a great choice for those interested in educational policy and practice.

4. Boston College (Chestnut Hill, MA): The Lynch School of Education and Human Development at Boston College is renowned for its strong teacher preparation programs. The curriculum emphasizes field-based experiences alongside academic coursework.

5. Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD): At Johns Hopkins, education students can get a broad-based, liberal arts education and then focus specifically on their education courses.

Take a good look at what specific aspect of education you're interested in (for example, policy, administration, curriculum instruction, special education) as this can further help narrow down your college list. Remember to consider other factors such as financial affordability, campus culture, location, and overall fit. Best of luck with your search!
