Best majors for a lucrative career?

What's up all? Trying to map out my post-high school plan and I'm kinda leaning towards a major that can lead to a high-paying job. I'm open to anything as long as there's potential for a big income. Anyone have any recommendations?

Hey! Solid question, it's great to explore these things early on. There's quite a bit of variety in majors that can lead to high-paying jobs, so it might be beneficial to align this with your interests and strengths. Here are a few worth considering:

1. Computer Science: This is a rapidly growing field with a high demand for skills in coding, data analysis, and algorithm design. You might see yourself working in jobs like software development, data science, or cybersecurity, all of which are known to offer solid paychecks.

2. Engineering: Degrees in fields like Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering can frequently lead to high-income roles. Just remember that these fields can be challenging and require a strong understanding of math and science.

3. Finance/Economics: If you're interested in the business world, these degrees can open doors to careers in investment banking, financial consulting, or market analysis.

4. Healthcare: While this can be a long journey (think medical school or other graduate programs), careers in health like being a physician or a pharmacist are typically high-paying. For a shorter route, you might consider something like a Physician Assistant or Nursing program.

5. On a related note, a degree in Biomedical Engineering, could lead to work in healthcare tech could be lucrative.

6. STEM majors in general usually lead to high-paying jobs due to the high demand for professionals in science, tech, engineering, and math industries.

These recommendations certainly aren't exhaustive, and many other majors can yield a sizable income, particularly when coupled with postgraduate studies. Also, remember that while money is important, you'll likely be more successful (and happier) if you're genuinely interested in your field. Good luck with your planning!
