Need Help Deciding: Best College for Finance Major in California?

Hello! I'm a junior from Fresno and I'm strongly considering majoring in Finance. Given my location, I've been looking into schools in California due to in-state tuition. What are the colleges you think have the best programs for finance in California and why? Thanks in advance!

In California, there are several great options for studying Finance. To begin, the University of California, Berkeley, specifically the Haas School of Business, is a well-regarded program. It's known for its rigorous curriculum and the competitive nature of their undergraduate business program. Additionally, its location, close to San Francisco and Silicon Valley, provides excellent opportunities for internships and job placements. Keep in mind that at UC Berkeley, undergraduate students typically apply to the Haas School in their second year after completing prerequisites.

Another option is the University of Southern California (USC). USC's Marshall School of Business offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. USC has strong connections to the finance industry, and its location in Los Angeles provides ample opportunities.

California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) offers a concentration in Finance in their Business Administration major through the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, which is the largest accredited business school in the state. The program offers comprehensive academic program with a real-world curriculum to prepare students for the ever-evolving business world.

Lastly, you may also want to consider the University of San Diego (USD). Its School of Business is smaller and offers a Bachelor's degree in Finance. The program focuses on an experiential learning approach where students take part in internships, study abroad programs, and other meaningful experiences.

These are just a stroll through the park, though. Each offers a unique experience, curriculum, and opportunities. Be sure to visit the campuses if possible, contact faculty or current students, and learn as much as you can about each program's curriculum, career support services, and post-graduate outcomes. Good luck with your search!
