College Majors for Aspiring Writers?

I've always loved writing, and I think I want to make a career out of it. But I'm stuck trying to figure out what major would be best for an aspiring writer like me when I head off to college. Looking for all the advice I can get!

Certain majors are particularly well-suited to facilitate and develop your writing skills. Here are a few strong options you might want to consider:

1. English/Literature: While this may seem like an obvious choice, it is a classic for a good reason. Studying English or Literature allows you to take a deep dive not only into the construction and language of works from every era, but also into the cultural, historical, and philosophical contexts that drove their creation.

2. Creative Writing: This major focuses explicitly on building your skills as a creative writer. Workshops and critique sessions form an essential part of these courses, providing you with invaluable feedback on your work and allowing you to learn from your peers.
