Looking for good Education programs in Nebraska Colleges

Hey everyone, I'm currently a junior and I've discovered a passion for teaching. I'd like to stay in Nebraska for college if possible. Any ideas/recommendations for colleges with good Education programs?

Absolutely! It's fantastic that you've decided to pursue a career in teaching. In Nebraska particularly, there are several colleges known for their strong education programs.

One to look out for is the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). UNL's College of Education and Human Sciences offers a variety of undergraduate education programs, including Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Special Education. They place a lot of emphasis on gaining hands-on experience through student-teaching, practicums, and internships.

There's also the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) which has a strong College of Education. They offer undergraduate programs in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Inclusive, and more. UNK also offers robust field experiences in addition to its coursework.

Another worthy option is Creighton University, located in Omaha. Creighton’s Education Department offers a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Secondary Education, complete with practicum experiences and student teaching.

Lastly, consider Concordia University, Nebraska. Concordia’s College of Education provides a range of programs, such as Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Art Education.

Remember to check out each college's teacher certification pass rates and job placement rates in education, as this information can give you a good sense of how well the programs prepare students for careers in teaching.

Your guidance counselor can also be an excellent resource for more localized college suggestions. I hope this helps, and best of luck with your college search and future teaching career!
