Chasing a National Security Degree

Yo! I've got this passion for politics and international relations, and I really want to major in National Security. Do any of you have suggestions on what colleges have the best programs for this?

Hey there! It sounds like you've got a clear path in mind, and that's awesome. Some schools are particularly well-regarded for their programs in fields related to National Security.

First off, Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service offers an undergraduate program in International Politics, allowing students to specialize in Security Studies. This is a top-notch program in one of the most politically active cities in the world, Washington, D.C., making it a great choice for students interested in international relations and national security.

Another strong program is at Syracuse University. It offers an interdisciplinary International Relations major, with a concentration in Security and Diplomacy. The program emphasizes a global perspective on international relations, which provides a great foundation for a career in National Security.

Last but not least, American University's School of International Service offers a BA in International Studies, with tracks in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, and Global Governance, Politics, and Security. Located in Washington, D.C., American provides ample opportunities for internships and networking in the field of National Security.

Let's not forget that your choice should take into account more than just academics—consider location, cost, size, and overall fit. Good luck on your journey!
