Texas colleges that excel in nursing?

If there are any Texas-natives on here who are pursuing a nursing degree, which colleges did you consider? Or, if you've graduated, where did you end up attending and why?

Sure, I'd be happy to list some great nursing programs in Texas.

1. University of Texas at Austin: It's often ranked as one of the top nursing programs in the country. The School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master's, Ph.D., and even an RN to BSN degree.

2. Baylor University: In addition to a traditional BSN program, Baylor's Louise Herrington School of Nursing also offers an accelerated 12-month program for students who already have a bachelor's degree in a different field.

3. Texas A&M University Health Science Center: An excellent choice, with BSN, MSN, and post-graduate advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) certificate programs. The program is committed to preparing nurses to function and excel in diverse, multicultural health care settings.

4. Texas Christian University: TCU’s nursing program offers BSN tracks for both traditional and transfer students, as well as an accelerated option for students who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field.

As to why students choose one program over another, it often comes down to personal factors like location, the student's career goals, cost, and the kind of learning environment they thrive in. Using tools like CollegeVine's free school search tool or going on college tours can help prospective nursing students find the right fit for them.
