What high school classes are necessary for an aspiring engineer?

So I'm really interested in going into engineering, and I'm trying to figure out what classes I should focus on in high school to prepare myself. Could someone give me advice on what classes would be most beneficial for an engineering track?

Hey there! Great to hear about your interest in engineering. It's a field with a lot of depth, and preparing early is a smart choice. High school can really set a strong foundation for your future studies. For an aspiring engineer, mathematics and sciences are essential. Make sure to take the highest level of math available at your school, which often includes calculus.

Physics is particularly important since it's directly applicable to many engineering fields, but don't neglect chemistry and biology either as they can be relevant, especially for certain disciplines like chemical or biomedical engineering.

If your school offers any engineering-specific courses, those would be a great way to get a feel for the subject. Also, look into computer science classes, as programming is increasingly integral to all fields of engineering.

And remember, it's not just about taking these classes, but also about excelling in them and showing that you can handle a rigorous course load. This can demonstrate your solid preparation for the demands of an engineering degree program. Best of luck with your classes!
