Help finding the best music tech colleges?

Hi everyone! I'm a little stressed as I'm in my junior year and seriously starting my college search. I'm dreaming of becoming a music tech major - anyone got any wisdom on the best colleges for this major? I'd really appreciate it.

Sure! Music technology is a fantastic field, and a great choice if you're interested in the intersection of music and digital media or sound engineering.

1. Berklee College of Music: This Boston-based college offers a Bachelor of Music in Music Production and Engineering. Besides technical skill development, Berklee also focuses on creative, aesthetic, and musical aspects of recording and production.

2. New York University (NYU): NYU's Steinhardt School offers a Music Technology program where students study under industry experts and have access to state-of-the-art recording studios. Their curriculum covers topics like sound synthesis, interactive digital media, acoustics, and audio recording.

3. Georgia State University: GSU has a Bachelor of Music in Music Production and Audio Recording that has a balanced curriculum including traditional music classes (like music theory and history) and music technology-specific courses.

4. Stanford University: Though not an undergraduate degree, Stanford has a strong Computer-Based Music Theory and Acoustics (CCRMA) program. This could be a good progression path if you choose to extend your education beyond the undergraduate level.

5. Carnegie Mellon University: CMU has an integrative design, arts, and technology (IDeATe) network that allows students from any major to concentrate in music technology. This is a good option if you're also interested in other fields and want a broad education.

Many of these programs will require you to submit a portfolio showcasing your technical skills and musical aptitude, so start working on that as early as possible! Good luck with your applications.
