top finance programs in Massachusetts

Hey everyone, I'm a high school junior from Boston who's been really invested in finance. Could someone give me a rundown of their opinions on the top colleges in MA for a finance major?

Sure, I'd be happy to share some information on reputed finance programs in Massachusetts!

1. Harvard University: Though Harvard does not offer a finance major for undergraduates, they do have an incredibly strong economics department. This will provide a solid foundation for a career in finance, and the prestige of Harvard can't be underrated. Many students who are interested in finance choose to major in economics or apply to a joint concentration with the new data science field.

2. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): Similar to Harvard, MIT does not offer a finance major but its economics and mathematics programs are highly recognized. More specifically, MIT's Sloan School of Management offers a minor in Finance, which is a great opportunity for students interested in the field.

3. Boston College’s Carroll School of Management: Known for its strong business program, Boston College offers a finance concentration within its business school. It provides a strong and comprehensive understanding of financial market behavior.

4. Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business: Northeastern's Finance program is known for its emphasis on experiential learning opportunities which include internships and co-ops at renowned companies.

5. Bentley University: Bentley offers a Bachelor of Science in Finance as well as a Corporate Finance and Accounting major. Bentley stands out for focusing specifically on business education, and has strong connections with many employers in the Boston area.

6. Babson College: While known for entrepreneurship, Babson also offers a strong Finance concentration. Their curriculum includes traditional finance courses along with classes on entrepreneurial finance and real estate.

Each of these institutions will provide you with a great education in finance. I would recommend visiting each of these schools, researching their specific course offerings, talking to students or alumni if possible, and seeing which one aligns best with your goals and feels like the best fit for you.

Finally, while finance programs are a critical part of considerations, do also consider other factors such as size, location, culture, and clubs/activities when making your college choice. The best program for you is one that not only educates you in your area of interest but also supports your overall growth.
