Best Community Colleges for nursing in California?

Hi everyone- junior here. I'm really interested in nursing, but I think I want to start at a community college. Do you guys have any recommendations on the best community colleges for nursing in California?

Sure, I can suggest a few community colleges in California that have highly-rated nursing programs.

1. Pasadena City College: Pasadena City College offers a robust Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program. Its graduates have high pass rates on the NCLEX-RN, the licensure exam for registered nurses.

2. Saddleback College: Located in Mission Viejo, Saddleback College also has a well-regarded nursing program with high NCLEX-RN pass rates.

3. Santa Rosa Junior College: The Christy Schulz Olson Registered Nursing Program at Santa Rosa Junior College is another highly-regarded program that prepares students to provide direct care to patients with common, well-defined health problems and more.

4. Long Beach City College: The nursing program at Long Beach City College is known for its rigorous curriculum and hands-on clinical training.

5. Fresno City College: Fresno's Registered Nursing Program is one of the oldest and most respected in the state. They boast high licensing exam pass rates and job placement rates for their graduates.

6. Bakersfield College: They have an excellent nursing program that has a strong focus on patient care and include studies in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, pediatric nursing, and more.

Remember, these are not ranked in order, so I would recommend looking into each program to see which one might suit your goals best. Consider factors such as class size, faculty credentials, location, cost, clinical practice and simulation opportunities, articulation agreements with four-year colleges (which can make it easier if you plan to transfer and pursue a bachelor's degree at some point), and NCLEX-RN pass rates.

This all will help you make the most informed decision.
