Start of a career in law - Best California colleges for pre-law?

Hey all, I'm really interested in pursuing law after high school. I'm a junior looking at pre-law programs for my undergraduate studies. Can anyone recommend some top California colleges that are known for their pre-law programs?

California has a solid selection of universities that offer robust pathways to law school. Remember, you can major in almost anything and still apply to law school, but certain programs can better prep you for the LSAT and law school coursework.

Firstly, Stanford University has a marvelous reputation in law. While Stanford doesn't have a specific pre-law undergrad program, they offer a philosophy major, a commonly chosen pre-law pathway. Their philosophy program is one of the best, and the critical thinking skills you'll gain there will be greatly beneficial for law school.

Next is the University of California-Berkeley. Like Stanford, they don't offer a specific pre-law major. However, Berkeley has an incredible political science program, another common pre-law major. Plus, Berkeley Law is one of the top law schools in the nation, so you'd have access to plenty of law-related resources and networking opportunities.

University of Southern California (USC) offers extensive pre-law advising.

Similarly, UC Davis has an excellent Prelaw Advising program that provides resources for any student interested in attending law school, regardless of major.

Lastly, Pepperdine University offers a legal studies major designed to provide a basis for law school. It's an interdisciplinary curriculum that focuses on legal content, reasoning skills, and ethical values.

While looking into these schools, remember to also consider factors such as financial aid offerings, class size, location, and overall fit. College selection is very personalized, and the "best" school will differ based on individual student needs and goals. It's always beneficial to reach out to each school for more information regarding their offerings.
