Considering out-of-state colleges for Computer Science. Any recommendations?

Hi everyone! I'm a junior from California looking to major in Computer Science in college. While there are some great options here, I'm keeping my options open for out-of-state colleges as well. Any recommendations on highly-regarded non-California colleges for a CS major?

Absolutely, there are numerous highly-regarded colleges for Computer Science outside of California. Here are a few recommendations:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): No list could be complete without mentioning MIT. Their Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is notorious for its rigorous and innovative programs.

Carnegie Mellon University: Their School of Computer Science is a major powerhouse and has a strong reputation for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

University of Washington: The Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at this university is highly respected. Plus, as it's on the west coast, transitioning there won't be such a cultural shock compared to East Coast schools.

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign: Their Department of Computer Science is part of the Grainger College of Engineering, which is known for its top-notch engineering and CS programs.

University of Texas at Austin: UT Austin's Department of Computer Science is consistently ranked as one of the top programs in the country.

Deciding which to apply to could depend on various factors such as your career goals, personal interests aside from CS, and financial situation. I recommend getting in touch with current students or faculty from these programs to get an idea of the individual culture and opportunities each school provides. Good luck with your college search!
