Best way to submit transcripts on Common App?

Hi guys, I'm starting to feel a bit stressed out with gathering documents. Could someone explain how I'm supposed to submit my high school transcripts through the Common App? Is this something my counselor handles, or do I need to do something on my end? Thanks a ton!

Hi there! I totally understand that the college application process can be overwhelming, but when it comes to your high school transcripts, it’s something your school counselor will generally handle for you. In fact, on the Common App, there's a section where you invite your counselor to submit your transcript. Here's what you need to do:

First, you need to fill out the Education section of the Common App thoroughly. Then, navigate to the 'My Colleges' tab, choose a college, and select 'Recommenders and FERPA.' Here, you’ll need to sign the FERPA release authorization which gives colleges permission to review your application. After that, you invite your counselor using their email address. Once they accept the invitation, they can upload your transcript directly to the Common App.

Make sure to speak with your counselor to let them know to expect the invitation and discuss any deadlines to ensure everything is submitted on time. Also, double-check that your high school information and your counselor’s details are accurate on the application to prevent any delays.

Remember that your counselor is there to help you through this process, so feel free to reach out to them for any assistance or to confirm that your transcript has been sent. Best of luck with your applications!
