Finding California community colleges with good science programs

My mind is pretty set on a science major but I'm leaning more towards starting at a community college. Can anyone point me towards the best ones in California for science?

There are several community colleges in California renowned for their science programs. A few to consider would be:

1. Santa Monica College: Known for its strong STEM programs, Santa Monica College also has articulation agreements with many of the UC and Cal State schools, easing the transition process if you plan to transfer.

2. De Anza College: Located in Cupertino and near a number of tech companies, De Anza has a strong reputation especially in the Biological, Health, and Environmental Sciences.

3. Pasadena City College: Also stands out for its strong science programs. This institution frequently collaborates with local industries for internships and job placement opportunities.

4. Orange Coast College: In Costa Mesa, offers competitive science programs with modern labs and facilities.

Remember, when evaluating the best fit for you, also consider factors such as the college location, available resources, class sizes, transfer agreements with four-year universities, and opportunities for research or internships. Moreover, take note of whether the college has a particular strength in the science major you're interested in (e.g., physics, biology, chemistry). You could also check the transfer success rates of these colleges to UCs and Cal States, which is usually a good indicator of the strength of their programs.

Take a tour where possible, reach out to the admissions office, and don't be afraid to ask questions to gain a deeper insight into each institution. All the best as you pursue your science major!
