How many math classes do I need to graduate college?

Hey everyone! I'm really into visual arts and wasn't sure how that's going to play into my college schedule since I’m not that keen on math. Can someone tell me how many math classes are usually required for a degree (especially for non-STEM majors)? I just want to plan ahead and figure out my tolerance level for math in college lol.

Hey there! As a high school counselor, I've seen how the number of math classes required really depends on the college and the specific program you're enrolled in. Most colleges have general education requirements that include at least one math class. However, for non-STEM majors, especially in the visual arts fields, you might find that the requirement is just one or two courses in math.

My advice would be to check the general education requirements of the colleges you're interested in. If you're really not math-inclined, look for programs that also offer courses that might have a more visual or practical component, like 'Math for Artists' or 'Math in Society.' That way, you can fulfill the requirement without having to dive too deep into advanced math. Best of luck with your college plans!
