Writing Classes at Georgia Military College

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the writing classes available at Georgia Military College? Are there any specific ones you recommend? Just trying to enhance my skills.

Georgia Military College (GMC) offers a selection of writing courses that cater to a wide variety of skills and interests. One of the core classes that every student can benefit from is English Composition (ENGL 101 and ENGL 102). These are introductory classes that cover foundational skills like grammar, style patterns, basic research, and argumentation which are beneficial for all fields of study.

For those interested in literature, GMC offers courses such as Survey of American Literature (ENGL 213) which not only provides a historical review of various types of literature but also fosters analytic writing skills. Another interesting offering is Introduction to Literature (ENGL 205) where you get a chance to analyze and interpret literature from various genres from a critical perspective.

GMC also provides a more advanced writing course like Creative Writing (ENGL 207), which provides students with an opportunity to explore different genres including poetry, short fiction, and playwriting, and to practice and refine their own creative writing skills.

As far as recommendations go, your choice will largely depend on your own learning goals and interests. If you're still early in your writing development, English Composition would be a great place to start. If you're more interested in literary appraisal or crafting your own narratives, it would be advantageous to take up Survey of American Literature, Introduction to Literature, or Creative Writing. If possible, it's also worth checking out the backgrounds and teaching styles of your potential instructors, as a great professor can enrich your learning experience significantly.
