What are the top colleges for International Relations in the U.S.?

Hey, I'm currently a junior and I've been really interested in International Relations as a first-choice major. I've found some rankings online, but I wanted to get your input here. What colleges are renowned for their International Relations programs? Could you name a few that really stand out?

Definitely, there are some excellent International Relations programs across the U.S.!

1. Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service is renowned for its International Relations program. They even offer a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service with a variety of concentrations, many of which focus heavily on international affairs.

2. Johns Hopkins University is another top choice, particularly if you're interested in their highly-regarded Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). While the undergraduate program itself is solid, an added bonus with Johns Hopkins is that Juniors and Seniors at the University have the ability to take classes at SAIS.

3. George Washington University, geographically situated right in the heart of Washington, D.C., offers substantial practical experience opportunities to its International Relations students.

4. Harvard University and Princeton University both have strong programs in this field, though they may lean more towards the theory of international relations as opposed to the practical application.

5. Likewise, Tufts University's Fletcher School is another highly respected program, especially known for its strength in diplomacy and security studies.

6. Stanford University, especially with its Hoover Institution and Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies, provides an amalgamation of explicit study and research exposure.

7. Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) is also globally recognized for its curriculum in International Relations.

These are just some of the standout programs in International Relations. However, successful study in this field can come from a variety of colleges and universities, so while these are some of the top programs, they certainly aren't the only options. Good luck with your search!
