Good California Community Colleges for Engineering Transfer

Hey, folks! I am keen on pursuing engineering and I'd like to start from a community college in Cali, with an aim to later transfer to a university. Anyone have suggestions for best community colleges in California for this pathway, specifically in the engineering field?

Sure, there are several great community colleges in California that offer strong programs for students looking to transfer into engineering departments at universities.

First, there's De Anza College in Cupertino, known for its great reputation as a feeder to top schools like University of California, Berkeley, and University of California, Los Angeles.

Santa Monica College also has a solid engineering program and is one the highest transfer institutions to UC schools in the state.

Thirdly, consider Pasadena City College, which hosts a strong engineering program and has articulation agreements with many UC and Cal State universities.

Lastly, Foothill College in Los Altos Hills prepares many of its engineering students for transfers to four-year universities. They also have specific programs geared towards the transfer process, so it might be worth considering.

Remember, success in transferring really depends on how well you do in your classes and involvement in relevant extracurricular activities. Many of these colleges also have guaranteed transfer agreements or pathways with UC/CSU schools that can provide a more certain route, given certain GPA and course requirements are met. Be sure to leverage the counseling resources at your community college to maintain a good plan for your specific transfer goals.

These schools are a great start for your journey into engineering, and I'm confident you'll find the best fit for you!
