Navigating Public Colleges for a Psychology Major

I'm a high school junior planning to major in Psychology and I'm thinking of public colleges. Any ideas on good public colleges with stellar psychology programs? Particularly interested in the Midwest.

There are several public universities in the Midwest that are known for their strong psychology programs:

1. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor: Their psychology program ranks among the top in the U.S. and it offers numerous opportunities for undergraduate research, which can be a major plus if you're interested in that.

2. University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: They offer a wide range of concentrations within the psychology major, allowing you to focus on areas you're most passionate about.

3. University of Wisconsin-Madison: The University of Wisconsin-Madison provides an excellent psychology program. As a bonus, the campus is right next to the state capital and offers big city amenities with a small-town feel.

4. Ohio State University: Their psychology program is well-rounded and offers a variety of classes and research opportunities.

5. University of Minnesota-Twin Cities: They have a very research-intensive program, which can be great if you're interested in the research aspect of psychology or even thinking about a future PhD.

While these are all great options, remember to also consider factors such as class size, tuition, living expenses, location preferences, and the general vibe of the school to find the best fit for you.
