Revive Athletic Side in College After Military?

Hey guys, football's been a big part of my high school life, and I'm certainly looking at the military after graduation. However, I'm not ready to let go of my sports side. Is it possible to play college football if I decide to pursue education after military service?

Absolutely, continuing with football during or after your military service can indeed be possible. The NCAA has regulations in place to accommodate service members, so your athletic eligibility won't be exhausted while you're serving in the military. In fact, military service is one of the reasons the NCAA will waive the "five-year rule," which typically allows student-athletes five calendar years in which to play four seasons of competition.

If you're considering participating in athletics while in the military, you might also look into service academies, which offer college-level athletics, or the various intramural or club-level teams provided by the different branches of the military.

Remember, the process of transitioning from military service to collegiate sports may be demanding, especially at the NCAA level due to the rigorous academic and athletic expectations. Balance, discipline, and guidance (possibly from an academic advisor) will be key to being able to manage your academic responsibilities alongside your athletic commitments.

Lastly, be informed about the recruiting process, as it may be quite different from that of a traditional high school student. Feel free to reach out to college coaches after your military service when you're ready to start this next chapter. They can guide you through the process and provide you with opportunities that coincide with your educational and athletic goals.

So yes, don't hang up the cleats just yet - you can keep your athletic side alive after your military service!
