Hey folks! I'm a PA resident and I've been looking at psychology programs in a bunch of PA colleges. Anybody know which colleges here have particularly strong programs?
Pennsylvania is home to a number of colleges and universities with strong psychology programs!
University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) is known for its top-notch psychology department and is one of the renowned Ivy League schools. UPenn's psychology program is amongst the best in the country, and it emphasizes research, which can be a great opportunity if you're eager to dive into hands-on learning.
Another strong program to consider is at Swarthmore College, which offers both a BA and a BS in psychology — the BS degree has a stronger emphasis on research and is a good option if you're considering pursuing graduate studies.
Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) also has a competitive psychology program that is particularly strong in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience.
Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), also offers a comprehensive psychology program with plenty of research opportunities and a focus on preparing students for a diverse range of careers.
Each of these programs has its unique strengths, so I'd suggest looking more into each college to see which program is the best fit for your individual interests and post-graduation plans, be it grad school, research, or starting your career. Remember to also consider other factors like size, location, student life, financial aid, and so on. Good luck with your search!
