So, I'm all about Theatre and I live in Georgia. I'd like to stay within the state if possible for my undergrad studies. Could anyone recommend the best colleges in GA for Theatre majors?

You're in luck because Georgia has some great options for Theatre studies.

1. University of Georgia (UGA): UGA's Department of Theatre and Film Studies offers a robust program with both BA and BFA degrees in Theatre. The department hosts a rich array of guest artists and has a strong focus on performance theory and history alongside practical coursework. Plus, UGA's theatre program stages around five productions each year, allowing students ample opportunities to gain hands-on experience.

2. Georgia State University (GSU): GSU's School of Film, Media, and Theatre offers a vibrant Bachelor's in Theatre. There's a wide variety of specializations available, ranging from acting and directing, to design and technology, and playwriting, giving you plenty of room to explore and hone your interests. It also has partnerships with local theatre companies, providing opportunities for internships and work placements.

3. Emory University: Emory College of Arts and Sciences has a diverse Theater Studies program where you can choose to either major or minor. The program balances practical experience with theoretical knowledge. Not only does Emory produce a number of shows each year, but they also have an Artist-in-Residence program which brings in renowned theatre professionals.

4. Kennesaw State University: If you're interested in Musical Theatre specifically, KSU is a good choice. They offer a BFA in Musical Theatre which is quite competitive and puts on several productions each year.

Remember, the "best" program will depend on what you're looking for go on and visit these schools (if possible), talk to current students, and professors, and even attend some of their public performances to get a sense of what each program offers. Whichever you choose, taking advantage of the resources and opportunities available will make your experience worthwhile. Break a leg in your college adventure!
