Best New York Colleges for Psychology majors?

Hey, I'm looking for some advice from students who are currently studying or have studied, psychology in colleges based in New York. What colleges should I seriously consider applying to for the best possible Psychology education?

New York is home to various colleges well-known for their psychology programs. It would be helpful if you mentioned the types of programs you're interested in (like clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, etc.), but I'll provide a general overview.

Firstly, Columbia University, part of the Ivy League, hosts a widely respected psychology program. Students are exposed to groundbreaking research and a curriculum designed to encourage a comprehensive understanding of human behavior.

New York University (NYU) offers an excellent psychology program as well. One highlight of studying at NYU is the access to diverse internships within the city which can prove invaluable for experience and career connections.

Cornell University, another Ivy League school, located in Ithaca, is not quite in the city but carries a solid reputation for psychology.

Another commendable institution is the University of Rochester. Its department of psychology offers courses in various sub-fields, including developmental, social, clinical, cognitive, and brain and cognitive sciences.

Next, Fordham University provides a strong psychology program amidst a friendly community vibe and smaller class sizes. Its location in the Bronx might make it an appealing choice if you're interested in urban communities or clinical psychology specifically.

Finally, the City University of New York system (CUNY), including locations such as Hunter College or Baruch College, offers strong programs on a more budget-friendly basis.

Remember, the 'best' school will hugely depend on your personal factors like future career goals, financial situation, your preferred teaching style (big lecture vs. small seminar), and so on. It's highly recommended to visit these campuses, if possible, along with researching and connecting with currently enrolled or alumni students from potential schools to learn more about each environment.
