Hey guys, I'm a rising senior and beginning my college search. Just trying to figure out what I need to prepare myself for. For those of you already in college, what's your least favorite aspect of it?
Hey! One common issue for many college students, including myself, is self-discipline and time management. When you're in high school, your classes and activities are pretty structured, but in college, you have way more freedom, which is a blessing and a curse. If you're not careful, you can quickly fall behind in your courses. So, setting a regular study schedule and sticking to it is a must!
Also, adjusting to communal living can be challenging, especially if you're not used to sharing your space. Issues ranging from noise to cleanliness can cause friction between roommates. It's important to communicate clearly and regularly with your roommates about any issues that arise, and try to work out a compromise.
Finally, juggling academics with your social life might be tough. You will meet a lot of interesting people and would want to spend time with them. However, it's important to strike a balance between maintaining your grades and making the most of your college experience.
That said, everyone's college experience is unique and these are just general things you might want to keep in mind. The best thing you can do is go in with an open mind and be adaptable to all the new experiences that will come your way!
