Looking for Diverse Colleges

Hey guys! I'm trying to find schools that have diverse student bodies, because I believe we learn the most when we're surrounded by classmates from all walks of life. Anyone know of colleges known for their diversity? Thanks in advance!

Absolutely, I totally agree with your perspective on valuing diversity in a collegiate environment! Here's a rundown of some universities that are often recognized for their commitment to diversity:

1. Rutgers University–New Brunswick: This public university has the fifth-largest percentage of international students in the U.S., according to U.S. News. Furthermore, about half of the undergraduate student body identifies as non-white.

2. University of Houston: UH is in a dynamic, diverse city and reflects that in its student demographics. According to The Chronicle of Higher Education, it was the second most diverse university in the nation in 2020.

3. University of California–Los Angeles: UCLA boasts a diverse community with no racial or ethnic group comprising a majority of its population. Among its undergraduates, about 35% are Asian, 25% are White, 22% are Hispanic, and 6.5% are African American.

4. Stanford University: Stanford also has a diverse environment with no one racial or ethnic group representing a majority. The undergraduate population is approximately 27% Asian, 18% Hispanic, 24% White, and 8% Black.

Remember, while ethnic and international diversity is one aspect, consider also diversity in terms of socioeconomic status, academic interests, geographical backgrounds, and more. Check each college's Common Data Set or their website's "About Us" page - these can often provide detailed information about the demographic breakdown of the student body that might be useful for your research.
