When do most colleges have their Spring Breaks?

I'm trying to plan out my future college visits and I was wondering if there's a generally agreed-upon time when most colleges have spring break? I'd assume it's probably sometime in March or April?

You're right in your assumption that most colleges have their Spring Break in March or April. Most US colleges tend to schedule their Spring Breaks in the weeks following midterms, which usually occur in late February or early March. Consequently, the majority of college Spring Breaks tend to fall somewhere in the middle of March.

Remember, each college or university sets their own academic calendar, and Spring Break dates can vary significantly from one institution to another. Larger universities may have a different break schedule than smaller liberal arts colleges, and public schools could have different timelines than private institutions.

My most significant piece of advice would be to check the academic calendars of the specific colleges you're interested in. These calendars can often be found on the school's official website and will give you precise information about term dates, holidays, and other important events.

Finally, remember that Spring Break can be a great time to visit, but the campus might show a different environment than what it typically is. With a reduced number of students present, you might not get a full sense of the school's community. Make sure to factor this into your visit planning.
