Curious about Military Colleges in New England.

Hi everyone, I'm a typical junior in high school thinking about pursuing a military college in New England. Can anyone enlighten me on my options?

Absolutely, there are several military-oriented schools in New England that you could consider.

Firstly, the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut is a federal service academy that offers an engineering-based curriculum. This institution is unique as it doesn't require a Congressional nomination for admission unlike other service academies.

Secondly, you might want to look at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. Known as the Birthplace of ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps), Norwich has both a civilian student body and a military corps of cadets. You can choose a traditional civilian residential experience, or join the Corps of Cadets for a more structured military lifestyle throughout college.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy, located in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, also might be worth considering as they have a regiment of cadets you can join. This is optional and you can choose a "civilian" lifestyle if you wish, but joining the regiment creates opportunities for leadership development and you can commission in the military after graduation if you like.

Lastly, there's the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. It's a bit small, but they offer a Regiment of Midshipmen that provides military-style leadership training, which could be right up your alley.

All of these institutions offer different experiences and opportunities, so I would suggest doing more research into each one to determine which would be the best fit for your post-high school plans. Remember, these type of colleges often require a high level of discipline and commitment, so consider whether this aligns with your personality and career aspirations.
