Okay, I might have spent too much time on Architectural Digest but I'm really curious, what are the 50 most beautiful college campuses as per them? Anyone attending/have attended any of these colleges? Are they as beautiful as they appear in pictures? Just a junior looking for some college beauty inspo.
It's wonderful to see you taking an interest in the aesthetic aspects of different college campuses! A visually appealing environment can contribute positively to your overall college experience. However, keep in mind that while beautiful grounds and architecture are great, you should also consider factors like academic opportunities, faculty quality, class size, campus community, and extracurricular activities.
With that said, the Architectural Digest list includes a nice mix of colleges across the country. It includes Ivies like Dartmouth College and Yale University, and small liberal arts colleges like Kenyon College and College of the Holy Cross. Public universities like the University of Virginia and the University of Colorado Boulder also appear on the list.
Most colleges try to capture the best aspects of their campus in pictures, but nothing truly compares to being on the campus itself. The energy, the atmosphere, the interaction between students - these all contribute to the "feel" of the campus, which can have just as big an impact as the visual attractiveness. If you have the opportunity, it might be beneficial to visit some of these campuses (either in-person or virtually) to get a better sense of what they're really like.
If you, or anyone else reading this, attends or has attended any of the colleges on the list, please do share your experiences and tell us if the campuses really live up to the hype in person!
