Got Military Colleges in Northern California?

Hey all, I live in Northern California and I'm considering military colleges as the next step after graduation. Does anyone know some great military colleges in or near Northern California? I'm pretty much open to all suggestions, and I would love your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Sure, there are a few you could consider. If you prefer a fully military-focused institution, the California Maritime Academy (also known as Cal Maritime) is an excellent choice. It's located in Vallejo, California, and is one of the only maritime academies on the West Coast. As a member of The California State University (CSU) system, students receive officer training for the U.S. Coast Guard while also earning a degree.

Now, if you're looking for something more hybrid—where a military program is part of a larger university—, you may want to consider the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) programs offered at various colleges and universities across Northern California. This would allow you to enjoy the traditional college experience while also preparing for a military career post-graduation.

For instance, University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) has Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC programs. Stanford University also has Army and Naval ROTC programs. These ROTC programs provide military training and scholarships in exchange for a commitment to serve in the military after graduation.

Finally, the University of San Francisco offers an Army ROTC program, which is actually hosted by UC Berkeley but allows students from several colleges in the San Francisco Bay Area to participate.

Remember to check out each institution's ROTC program details as the structure and offerings may vary. You typically apply to both the college/university and the ROTC program separately. So apart from considering your interest in the military, also ensure the college or university is a good academic fit for your goals. Best of luck in your search!
