The cheapest college globally?

Not only thinking about colleges in the US, but worldwide. I'm open to studying abroad if it means cheaper tuition. So, what is the least expensive college in the world? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking at colleges that offer inexpensive or even free tuition worldwide, Germany often comes to mind. While not all colleges there offer completely free tuition, many of them charge very modest fees, especially in comparison to the costs you may find in the United States.

One such example is Technical University of Munich, which is one of the top ranked universities in the world and only charges a nominal fee per semester, primarily towards student union fees and public transportation passes, but no tuition fee per se. Similarly, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich is also highly ranked and offers virtually tuition-free education.

Many Scandinavian countries, such as Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, offer free tuition at their public universities for all students, regardless of their nationality. For example, University of Oslo in Norway does not charge tuition fees but there is a small semester fee of around 50 euros.

Keep in mind however, that while the tuition may be cheap or even free, the cost of living in these countries may be substantially higher than what you are used to. So, don't forget to factor in other costs like rent, food, transportation and books.

Also, consider what studying in a foreign country might mean for you personally - language barriers, cultural differences, being far from family and friends, and so forth. It can be an enormously enriching experience, but it's also important to anticipate and plan for the practical and emotional challenges.

Lastly, remember to start planning early. Applying to international universities can be a different process than what you're used to, and you'll need to think about things like visas, health insurance, and potential language tests. Good luck!
