Is there a specific college scholarship for military families?

Feeling a bit stressed here. I'm in a military family and I've heard about some scholarships specifically for us. Does anyone know what these are or how I could apply? I would appreciate any help to lighten the financial load. Thanks a lot.

Absolutely, there are several scholarships specifically intended to help military families with college costs. A few you might want to consider are:

1. The Military Children Scholarship Program, created by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), provides scholarships of $2,000 per year for military children. To apply, you need to complete an application that typically includes an essay, letter of recommendation, and transcript.

2. AMVETS National Scholarship Program offers $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 a year over four years) to high school seniors who are the children or grandchildren of U.S. veterans.

3. The Scholarship for Military Children is offered by Fisher House Foundation. This fund awards multiple scholarships of $2,000 each year to dependents of active-duty, reserve/guard, or retired military commissary customers.

Each of these scholarships has its own application process and set of eligibility requirements, such as GPA minimums and other academic qualifications. I'd recommend starting by visiting each program's website to learn more about their specific deadlines and requirements. It's great to see you're exploring all your options to help offset the cost of your college education. Good luck!
