Prospective ROTC student seeking college advice in Oregon!

As you're interested in Oregon schools with ROTC programs, it's good to know that there are several universities in Oregon that are known to provide an encouraging environment for military students.

First, the University of Oregon (UO) has a program referred to as the Duck Corps. This program has been praised for its commitment to developing physically fit, mentally sharp, and morally straight leaders. The UO also offers scholarships to ROTC members and has a dedicated Center for Military, Veterans, and Family members which provides additional resources and support.

Oregon State University (OSU) is another commendable option. It features the OSU Beaver Battalion, which is one of the larger and more diverse ROTC units among the West Coast colleges. OSU's ROTC program includes leadership training, adventurous training exercises, and a strong community.

Another option is Portland State University (PSU), which has an Air Force ROTC detachment on campus known as Detachment 695 that's committed to developing leaders of character. PSU's program offers scholarships and a variety of training opportunities.

Finally, Southern Oregon University (SOU) offers an Army ROTC program in partnership with the University of Oregon, providing cadets with the leadership skills and experience necessary for military service.

Remember, visiting a campus, when possible, and reaching out to current ROTC members can be very helpful to get a feel for the program and college environment. Doing your research and reaching out to the ROTC units at these schools is your best strategy to find the right fit for you. Best of luck in your college search and your potential military career!
