Most Beautiful College Campus in the U.S.?

Getting closer to application season and I'm starting to look deeper into things. Besides academics and extracurricular opportunities, campus beauty is a major factor for me. So, can anyone suggest which colleges in the U.S. have the most beautiful campuses?

Beauty is somewhat subjective and can vary greatly depending on individual preferences - some students prefer campuses with a lot of greenery, others prefer architectural marvels or a blend of old and modern buildings. But, going by many rankings and general student sentiment, here are a few schools that are often commended for their beautiful campuses:

1. Stanford University: The campus with its Romanesque-style buildings and sprawling, beautifully manicured grass plazas is nothing short of an architectural marvel. The campus also hosts a number of art collections and gardens that further accentuate its beauty.

2. University of Virginia: Designed by Thomas Jefferson, the campus has a giant lawn at the center, surrounded by academic buildings and student living quarters. There's also the Rotunda, which was modeled after Rome's Pantheon and is a U.S. National Historic Landmark.

3. Dartmouth College: This college is set in the picturesque Upper Valley of New Hampshire. With the Connecticut River nearby, there's plenty of natural beauty to enjoy. The campus itself comprises beautiful Georgian-style architecture.

4. University of Notre Dame: Especially noted are the golden-domed Main Building, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, and the picturesque Notre Dame Grotto. This Indiana-based campus covers over 1,200 acres and offers stunning views of its own lakes.

5. University of Colorado Boulder: The stunning mountain backdrop, an array of striking architectural styles, and lush greenery make this campus particularly scenic.

6. Pepperdine University: Located in Malibu, California, this campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The campus offers sweeping views of the beach and surrounding mountains.

7. Furman University: The campus includes a 40-acre lake, beautiful Georgian-style architecture, and even a replica of Henry David Thoreau's cabin.

8. Scripps College: Known for its charming Mediterranean-style architecture, lush gardens, and courtyards, this women's college in Claremont, California is also high on the list.

Of course, there are many other colleges with attractively picturesque campuses across the country. If beauty and aesthetics are your priority, visiting campus or looking at campus tours online can give you a better feel before deciding to apply.
