Lowest factors on the college consideration list?

Hello, I am a junior in high school and I've been reading about what factors I should consider when choosing a college. What's something that's usually considered less important or that can be overlooked when choosing a college? Thanks!

Hi there,

When thinking about selecting a college, there can be many factors to consider. But one aspect that can sometimes be overlooked, or at least considered less important, is the size of the student body and class sizes. While many might be attracted to the prestige and opportunities of a large university, smaller colleges often offer smaller class sizes which can lead to closer relationships with professors and fellow students.

College reputations, while valuable, may also receive more attention than is necessary, and they should not overshadow factors such as educational quality, available majors, internship opportunities, and a comfortable campus culture.

Another factor that doesn't carry as much weight as students often believe is the physical appearance of the campus. While attractive buildings and landscapes can make a great first impression, they don't necessarily correlate with the quality of the education or the fit of the college.

The dining hall food, while worth considering, is also typically less crucial. Most students adapt to their college food situation and often have plenty of off-campus dining options to explore as well.

Remember, what matters is that you find a college that fits your personal and academic needs and feels like the right place for you. So while these aspects should be considered, they should not dictate your ultimate decision. Best of luck with your college search!
