Least Essay-Heavy College Degrees?

Hey guys, any advice on a degree that requires the least amount of essays? I enjoy learning and I like multiple disciplines, but I want to steer clear of those that are majorly essay-based. Appreciate the help!

Absolutely, there are definitely paths of study that tend to have fewer essay-centric assignments compared to others.

1. STEM Fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math): These are typically less essay-focused and more problem-solving oriented. There might be lab write-ups, but overall you'll encounter less traditional essay writing and more practical application. For example, majors in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Organic Biology, and Computer Science might be a good fit for you. Many courses here rely on mathematical problem-solving and hands-on work.

2. Business Degrees: While there is writing involved in business degrees - such as crafting business plans or writing reports - it's generally less interpretive and more practical and concise. Majors like Finance, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management could fall under this category.

3. Visual Arts/Fine Arts: Depending on the specific program, you may be more focused on creating pieces of work rather than writing about them. Majors like graphic design, 3D design, or photography could be a good fit. However, some art history or theory classes may require essays.

It's important that you thoroughly research the degree programs you are interested in at each school. This will help you understand the curriculum and specific course outlines. Also, consider your career ambitions - the goal is not to just minimize essays, but to find a field you are passionate about and will prepare you for your future career. Happy hunting!
