Majors with Minimal Math: How to Choose?

Hello everyone! Math really isn't my forte and I'm trying to keep it to a minimum during my college years. So, I'm curious: which college majors typically involve the least math?

While it's understandable that you might want to steer clear of a subject area that you find challenging, it's important to also consider what subjects you do enjoy or are passionate about when selecting your major.

With that said, here are some majors that tend not to have a heavy math focus:

1. Humanities Majors: Disciplines like English, History, Philosophy, and Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology etc often require minimal mathematics. These fields are primarily concerned with understanding the human experience through language, culture, and thought.

2. Arts Majors: If you're artistically inclined, you might consider majors like Studio Art, Graphic Design, Art History, or Performing Arts. These disciplines tend to focus more on creativity and expression rather than mathematical skill.

3. Social Sciences: While some social sciences use statistical methods (like Psychology or Sociology), others like Political Science, Communications, and certain areas of Anthropology may have less of a focus on math.

4. Languages: If you enjoy studying languages, a major in a foreign language will have practically no math involved.

5. Education: If you're interested in teaching a topic other than math, a degree in Education (like English Education or History Education) could be a good choice.

Remember to verify your proposed major’s requirements for GE (General Education) courses as well, as there might be math required there, even if it isn't heavily integrated into your major. You might also check with an academic advisor at your chosen institution to ensure you have the best, most updated information.
