Courses with the least workload in college?

Hey folks, future college student here and I was wondering, are there any courses or majors that are known to have a lesser workload? I'm really worried about managing my time effectively in college. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

While it's important to keep in mind that course workload can vary by institution, major, and even by professor, some academic disciplines tend to be less intensive on average than others. Majors in the humanities and social sciences can often involve less direct in-class time compared to lab-heavy sciences or engineering, though there still may be substantial reading and writing assignments outside of class.

Majors such as Communication, Sociology, and some Business concentrations (like Marketing or Management) have been known to be slightly less intense when compared to Engineering, Computer Science, or Pre-Med disciplines, where lab work, problem sets, and intensive coursework are the norm. However, be aware that "less workload" does not always mean "easier" - each discipline has its challenges and intricacies, and an interest in and passion for the subject matter will often make the workload easier to handle regardless of major.

Remember, the goal is not to take the easiest path but to find a course of study that aligns with your interests and career goals. You'll find managing your time and the workload is much easier when you're truly engaged with the material. Also consider seeking resources to help with time management, such as academic advisors or campus writing centers. Good luck!
