Colleges with the least financial diversity?

So, does anyone have insight on which colleges show the least financial diversity among its students? I've read that some colleges have a higher proportion of students from affluent families, and I'm curious to know.

Sure, I can provide you with some insight on this. A few of the colleges known to lack significant financial diversity are typically those in the Ivy League and other prestigious private universities.

For example, colleges like Washington University in St. Louis, Tufts University, and Vanderbilt University have been noted to have double-digit percentages of their student bodies coming from the top 1% of the income scale. Moreover, a 2017 New York Times report identified Dartmouth College, Princeton University, Yale University, and Brown University as schools where more students come from families in the top 1% of the wealth distribution than from families in the bottom 60%.

Despite these statistics, it's critical to note that many of these schools are also implementing policies to attract lower-income students, and such demographics may change over time. It's also important to remember that financial diversity doesn't necessarily correlate with academic quality or opportunities.

Keep in mind too that these numbers, while informative, are averages and not reflective of every individual's experience at these schools. Many wealthier schools are working hard to increase socioeconomic diversity and provide substantial financial aid packages. It can be just as rewarding to attend a school with a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds as it can be to attend one where most students share your own experience.
