Least costly state college in Ohio?

I've set my heart on staying in Ohio for college since it's home. I'm just pretty overwhelmed with the tuition fees, though. Any advice on the least expensive state colleges in Ohio?

Sure, it's always great to consider the financial aspects of your college decision. When it comes to public, four-year institutions in Ohio, generally, schools like Shawnee State University, Central State University, and Youngstown State University consistently tend to have lower tuition rates.

For instance, Shawnee State University, located in Portsmouth, reportedly has the lowest tuition among four-year public institutions in the state. The university offers a variety of majors concentrated in the fields of business, health sciences, education, and the humanities.

Youngstown State University which is situated in the northeastern part of Ohio, is also known for its relatively low tuition. It offers various academic departments and has strong programs in business, engineering, and art.

Likewise, Central State University in Wilberforce, a historically black university, also offers lower tuition fees. It has strong programs in business administration, education, fine and performing arts, among other areas.

Keep in mind that these costs can be further reduced with financial aid and scholarships that you might be eligible for. You'll want to run the net price calculators for each of these universities to get a more accurate understanding of what your final costs might be, taking into account your financial situation and potential aid. Be sure to fill out your FAFSA to be eligible for any form of federal aid too.

Lastly, your choice should also factor in the strength of your intended major at these schools and the opportunities offered to you as a student, beyond just the cost.
