Least Competitive Major to get Into At Georgia Tech?

Hey! I've got my heart set on Georgia Tech but I'm not sure how competitive my grades are. Does anyone know what the least competitive major to get into might be? I'm flexible on my major and just really want to get in to the university.

While it's completely understandable that you're determined to study at Georgia Tech, I would urge caution when selecting a major purely based on its perceived competitiveness. Remember that your choice of major should ideally align with your interests, career goals, and individual strengths. You're going to spend four years (and potentially a career) immersed in this discipline, and finding it either uninteresting or overly challenging can lead to a lot of unnecessary stress.

That said, the acceptance rates do fluctuate from major to major at Georgia Tech. It's worth noting, however, that the university is widely recognized for its stellar programs in engineering, computer science, and related fields. Consequently, these tend to be the most sought after and, as a result, the most competitive.

Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce conducted a detailed investigation and found that some of the least competitive majors (on a national scale) often fall within the realm of the humanities, such as English, social work, and visual & performing arts.

However, this could change at Georgia Tech given its tech-focused offering. Public Policy, Literature, Media and Culture, or History, Technology, and Society could be somewhat 'less competitive', but this could still vary year by year.

But ultimately, you should really think about what kind of coursework you want to take on, what type of job you'd like to have after school, and what you're genuinely interested in studying. Whether it's English or Electrical Engineering, your passion should be the key driver behind your choice of major.
