Beauty in The Lone Star State: Which are the Most Gorgeous Colleges in Texas?

Howdy! This is my first post here, and I am wondering if any of you can tell me about the most beautiful colleges in Texas. I'm a junior in high school and plan to stay in-state. Good weather, nice architecture, green spaces - all that jazz. Any thoughts?

Hello! There are indeed many beautiful colleges in Texas, each with distinctive aesthetics that make them special. Here are a few you may want to consider:

1. Rice University: Situated in Houston, Rice University is known for its beautiful urban campus with a lot of green space. There are tree-lined pathways, large archways, and stunning buildings that reflect a mix of Byzantine and Mediterranean architectural styles. Rice's campus is definitely a serene oasis in the heart of bustling Houston.

2. Southern Methodist University (SMU): Located in Dallas, SMU's campus features Georgian Revival-style architecture with brick buildings and green spaces. The campus also boasts some impressive facilities, including the Meadows Museum with a large collection of Spanish art.

3. University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin): The UT Austin campus is quite large and extremely diverse in terms of architecture and landscaping. The heart of the campus showcases classic beige limestone buildings, one of them being the iconic UT Tower. UT Austin’s campus is a wonderful blend of urban and green spaces, with Waller Creek running through it.

4. Baylor University: In Waco, the Baylor campus stands out with its red brick buildings, neatly manicured quads and the marina, which is located on the banks of the Brazos River. One of the most beautiful sights is the Armstrong Browning Library, an Italian Renaissance-style building with an intricate interior.

5. Texas State University: If you're into more of a natural setting, Texas State in San Marcos may be your choice. The campus is sited on a hill, and a river runs through it. Old Main, a late-Victorian building, crowns the campus hilltop and is a perfect example of the breathtaking architecture here.

6. Texas Christian University (TCU): Located in Fort Worth, TCU's campus boasts a distinctive brown stone architecture. It's also a tree-filled campus with plenty of open spaces and green lawns.

Remember, these are just a few examples, and there are many other beautiful campuses in Texas. It's a great idea to arrange campus visits where possible, seeing the spaces firsthand can be really helpful in making your decision. Good luck with your college search!
