Are there military colleges in Washington D.C.?

I've been feeling pretty serious about wanting to go to a military college as my next step after high school, and D.C. is an area I'm really interested in. Anyone know of any military colleges in Washington D.C.?

Yes, there is a military college quite close to (although not exactly in) Washington D.C.! The United States Naval Academy itself is located in Annapolis, Maryland, which is a little over an hour's drive from Washington D.C. The Naval Academy is a federal service academy with a strong focus on military discipline, physical fitness, moral character, and a strong technical background.

Additionally, if you are considering a program that provides a top-tier education alongside military training, you might want to consider the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs at universities in D.C. For instance, Georgetown University, George Washington University, Catholic University of America, and Howard University offer ROTC programs in partnership with the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

ROTC programs can give you the best of both worlds: a traditional university education and military training. Participating in one of these may lead you to commissioning as an officer in the respective military branch upon graduation. Check each university for the specific ROTC programs they offer and the scholarships available.

It's also worth knowing about service academies outside of D.C. such as the United States Military Academy (West Point), United States Air Force Academy, And United States Coast Guard Academy.

Research carefully to find out which path aligns best with your future career goals and educational preferences!
