Do most MLB players continue their education online while playing?

I'm pretty passionate about baseball, and I'm considering going pro straight out of high school. But I also don’t want to compromise my education. How many MLB players do you guys think are pursuing their college degrees online while playing professionally? Has anyone here done something similar or know someone who did?

While I can't provide an exact count, there are professional baseball players who continue their education after going pro. Some even make arrangements with their teams during the signing period to receive financial support for their education.

It's also important to note that many MLB teams have educational programs for their players. For instance, the MLB and Northeastern University have a partnership that allows players and staff to earn their degrees through online classes, while MLBPA offers the Paul F. Glenn Education Program which offers scholarships to players who wish to continue their education after their baseball career.

In terms of pursuing education while still actively playing, it's certainly a challenging endeavor given the significant time commitment required for professional sports, but not impossible. Bear in mind that it will require careful balancing of schedules and efficient time management.

Remember that making the jump from high school to professional baseball is a significant decision. When considering this path, it's important to weigh the risks against the rewards. It may also be beneficial to utilize resources such as coaches and guidance counselors in making this decision, as they can provide valuable insight and support during this process. While it's admirable to pursue your passion, it's just as important to prioritize your education, whether that means attending college before going pro or making arrangements to continue your education while playing professionally.
