Deadline for College Applications

Hey all, I'm a junior and working on my schedule for applications. Any idea when most college application deadlines are? I know it could vary, but is there like a common deadline most colleges tend to follow?

Sure, while exact deadlines will indeed vary based on the school and the type of application (Regular Decision, Early Action, Early Decision, etc), there are some common deadlines you can generally expect.

For Early Decision and Early Action, the most common deadlines are November 1st or November 15th. Some schools may have Early Action or Early Decision II deadlines, which usually fall around January.

For Regular Decision, this usually happens a bit later. January 1st and January 15th are the most common deadlines, but some schools might have deadlines as late as February or even March.

Remember to confirm the exact dates on the colleges' respective websites as you start compiling your list of schools. Each school will clearly list their specific deadlines for their application processes.

Keep in mind that some colleges also have a priority deadline for financial aid applications, such as the FAFSA and CSS Profile. These are usually around the same time as the admission application deadline but could be earlier.

And don't forget about scholarships that may have separate deadlines. Many institutional scholarships at colleges have deadlines that are often the same as or before the application deadline.

Also, it's always advisable to submit your application before the deadline. Nearing the deadline, application portals can become overwhelmed with last-minute applicants, which might slow down the system.

Good luck as you navigate your college application journey!
