Suggestions for military-friendly colleges in NC?

As a high school junior, I'm thinking about participating in ROTC during my college years as a step towards a future military career. Could anyone help me with advice or suggestions for military friendly colleges in North Carolina? Any insights would be hugely beneficial.

North Carolina is home to several institutions that are known for their strong military affiliations and ROTC programs.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill) hosts Army, Air Force, and Naval ROTC programs. They also offer opportunities for scholarships and leadership development, which would serve you well in a future military career.

Duke University also has Army and Naval ROTC units. The Navy ROTC program is particularly notable as it's a consortium unit, meaning that students at North Carolina Central University and North Carolina State University (NC State) also participate.

Speaking of NC State, it hosts Army and Air Force ROTC units in addition to their participation in Duke's Naval ROTC unit. They are also the home of the Leadership in a Technological Environment program, which could be of interest if you are considering a future in a tech-related role in the military.

A little further afield, East Carolina University hosts Army and Air Force ROTC programs and has been recognized for its commitments to veterans and active-duty members.

Keep in mind when choosing a college with an ROTC program that it will offer you leadership opportunities and military training while still being a civilian college student, and it can lead to a commission as an officer upon graduation. Take a look at the specific offerings of each program, and consider making contact with the ROTC unit at the college for more details about their particular program.
